The dreams of Larry
First it was a dream of becoming a draftsmen and mechanical engineer when I was back in highschool. Beginning to learn this craft first at BOCES vocational school during high school and one year certificate at Corning Community College. Ultimately, this dream changed with the economy and after five years I joined the Army as a Graphics Documentation Specialist. This is where I found my calling as an illustrator and eventually was able to teach, train and lead others in this field throughout my career.
During my Army career, I have served during Desert Storm and Desert Shield and the recent Gulf War on two deployments in 2002 and 2003. I spent 15 years of my career in Psychological Operations in various battalions creating leafets, flyers and posters and then preparing them for pre-press layup on the Heidelberg presses. Also have served in various job positions from Platoon Sergeant, Battalion Airborne NCO, Company Operations NCO, Audio Technican, to COMSEC Custodion and earning the Master Parachutist Badge. Graduating from Barton Community College with an Associate degree before I retired.
Deciding a change, I went back to what I know best. I recently graduated from Methodist University in May 2014, with a Bachelor degree in Computer Information Technology with a concentration in Multimedia. I'm currently pursuing a career as a web applications developer working with HTML5, PHP, CSS, Javascript, and SQL databases.
